Ellen's book will strengthen and guide you in your role as caregiver to an elder parent or relative, and help you understand your own physical, emotional, mental & spiritual needs.
Ellen trained as a Life Coach with Dr. Martha Beck, author of Finding Your Way in a Wild New World and monthly contributor to O, The Oprah Magazine. Judith Duerk, author of A Circle of Stones was Ellen’s mentor for a number of years. Ellen also studied and worked as a Trager bodywork practitioner and is a meditator in the Kriya yoga tradition.
Ellen mentors and assists women on their journey of discovery with inspirational coaching, groups, books and articles. Her 25 years as a coach, counsellor and social worker and her life experience as a mother, daughter and spiritual seeker make her uniquely qualified to guide and support women. Ellen’s first book, Surviving Eldercare: Where Their Needs End and Yours Begin chronicles her pilgrimage with her mother who had Alzheimer’s and offers a body, mind, and spirit approach to caregiving.
From 2007 to 2012 Ellen and her partner travelled and volunteered in India three times. They tutored Tibetan refugees in Dharamsala, explored the countryside and developed lifelong friendships in Udaipur. An Indian Sojourn Ellen’s memoir about this time in India is now published.
Recognizing the importance of team support, Ellen works closely with business coach and editor Jill Crossland, founder of TimeFinders Magazine. Suzanne Doyle-Ingram who created the cover and formatted An Indian Sojourn. Website manager, Michael Wynn.
